Corpus Hormē by Hrysovalanti F. Maheras is an augmented reality artwork that explores environmental change and the vulnerability of monarch butterflies through a responsive audiovisual ecosystem driven by live environmental data. Light measurements shape the activity and coloration of a virtual tree and monarch point clouds, while wind data generate motion and turbulence throughout the environment. Field recordings, generative sound, and spatial audio respond to participants’ movements, revealing layered sonic interactions that invite reflection on environmental justice, multispecies coexistence, and ecological interdependence.
